At Home Ballet Bar

I think it is great to have a ballet bar at your house. You can never do enough at the bar. Ballet is the core of all dancing, so when you are doing ballet you are improving all of your styles. Having a ballet bar is also great for stretching and practicing placement. You can also do exercises with it.

Great At Home Videos

I think it is great to have younger kids get dance videos to practice at home. I do think they should be in a class with a teacher to help them with certain things but practicing at home with videos is a great way to remember what they learned and also be prepared for what is to come in future classes. Discount Dance has many videos on all sorts of things. I love to do things at my house that will improve my dancing with out actually dancing.

Shredded Red And Black Tutu

Found this Tutu at dancewear solutions and I love it. It is so different from a normal tutu in that it is shredded and two colors. This could be great for a different or kind of weird dance. I think it would be cute if you used it in a dance like ramalam bang bang, or let the drummer kick or something of that sort.

Shinny Rhinestones Look Great On Stage

When the girls wear their hair in just buns I like to add a little something to jazz it up. I love these rhinestone hairpins. I usually wrap the the entire bun with them and on stage these look so great! When they catch the light the shine so much!

Super Cute Open Back, Criss Cross Leotard

I love that Discount Dance Supply has such a large selection of things, especially their leotards. I just bought this leotard from there and I love it. The back is so pretty. Dance Dolls Will Make The You Shine

For some dances I think it looks really cool to have glitter on the girls. I have been using Dance Dolls from Discount Dance for a while now and it works so great. It covers really well and gives the girls a great shine on stage when the lights hit them. It adds a a great touch to the dance and costume.

Super Cute Dance Sweats

I really like these sweatpants I found on Discount Dance Supply. They could work for a hip hop dance of some sort, or even to sell at the studio or a class! Every year the hip hop teams at my studio will order sweatpants or some type of clothing and these would be totally cute to get as a class. Getting your name or the team name on the leg would be super cute!

Full Body Tights Give A Clean Look

I have a dance where the group is wearing a shorty unitard. From past experience I know that wearing normal tights does not look good. it cuts off their hip and gives them an awkward line. These full body tights are great for unitards or even leotards. There are no awkward lines and makes the overall look cleaner. Even in just ballet class these are nice for you leotard.

Mix And Match With Knit Tights

I LOVE these knit tights! They are so great for the winter. They not only keep you so warm but are so cute with the roll over waist. You can mix and match so many colors for each look.

Smiley Face Toe Tape

Every dancer knows how dance treats your feet. Sometimes you need tape but it is hard finding tape that stays on while you dance. I started using smiley face toe tape from discount dance. It works so nice and stays on forever! I always keep a lot at the studio now for anyone who needs tape because it is the best.

Leg Warmers For The Winter

With the winter here it's not good to start dancing with cold muscles. In the winter I always start off my class with leg warmers. They help my muscles warm up fast prevent me from hurting any muscles. I prefer the stirrups, other wise it is way too slippery for me. The pink strips at the top add a cute touch too. I always recommend my dancers to wear these in the winter.

I love hip hop shoes. They are just so fun. If you have hip hop shoes to dance in you know that if feels so much better to dance in them rather than bare foot. You just get more in to it. These are awesome! I love love love purple and the ankle is higher which I also love. I really want these!!

Fighting Gravity = Amazing!

I watched most of America's Got Talent this year except for the end but I know my favorite was the group Fighting Gravity. Everything they did was so amazing! I know you couldn't really do much of the stuff at a competition but at your own recital, if you could do something like they do that would be the best show!!

Beat Freaks Rocked It Out Like Men

I watched the first two seasons of America's Best Dance Crew and then didn't really get into it that much again but I think I am going to start watching it again when it comes out again. One of my favorite dances though was from the Beat Freaks during the illusion challenge. They had the floating ball in their dance but that wasn't even the best part, they were so amazing! They can dance like men. They are ridiculous.

Lesser Known Artists/Songs Are Much Better For Performances

My friend just told me about an artist names Tyler Ward so I checked him out on youtube and I fell in love with the first song I heard from him. They might be great dance songs. You could put so much behind it. I also love using songs and artists that people have never heard before.

Comfortable Leotard And Uniforms

At our studio we have "uniforms". All of the dancers wear the same leotard and shorts. This is the leotard this year and it is so nice. They are so comfortable an they don't fall low in the front. If the straps were too long for the girls, it was an easy fix for them to shorten them. I personally love these leotards. I also suggest having uniforms at studios because it makes cleaning dances and doing lines a lot easier. The girls are also not distracted by what they are wearing and other girls are wearing.

So You Think You Can Dance Is Back!!

Just read that the auditions for So You Think You Can Dance are gonna begin soon!
Auditions will be October 13 in Oakland California and November 15 in Brooklyn. Only two cities have been set, but more will come in the coming weeks.
Oh my gosh! I can not wait for the auditions and the season to start! I love guessing and finding out who will be on the show!

Cutest Costumes For Great Prices

I teach some dance classes at a studio nearby and I was trying to find a costume for them and couldn't find anything I really liked.  Most of the costumes I found were either boring or cheep looking. Team Warm Ups Just Look Better

Dance team warm ups are a great thing to have. Seeing teams or studios with matching warm ups changes people's view on the team or studio.  They make the team seem unified and all around better.  I remember at a national competition one time, my team was with out uniforms and we just looked like we didn't belong at a national competition. I highly suggest getting team or studio warm ups for competitions and such, plus they are comfy and cute!

My studio has been using these earrings since before I was born. They are so great. They never fall out on stage. Amazing Dance Costumes!!

The dance year is starting for my studio and we should be looking at costumes for our dances soon. Kelle is always a great brand we choose for our costumes. They have so many choices and they quality is great. Every Kelle costume I have ever had has never ripped.  They may be a little spendy but they are so worth it. All of my Kelle costumes I have gotten compliments on and/or have been my favorites!!

These shoes look so amazing. They are a cross between a dance sneaker and a jazz shoe. The net middle gives you amazing flexibility. These are nice too because a lot of times they are clunky and a lot of times ugly and these are small and stylish! They are only $41.65 too! That is an awesome price for this type of dance shoes! Best SYTYCD Winner Yet.

I know this was a while ago but I still can't get over Lauren winning So You Think You Can Dance, Season 7.  I absolutely love her. I can not believe she is only 18 years old. Every style of dance she did, she killed it.  In the end when it was between her and Kent I honestly couldn't choose though because I loved the both of them. Kent it just so cute, but I am still so happy Lauren won. She is so inspirational!

Best Dance Shoe

My dance team usually dances in foot undies and this past year we recently switched to dance paws. They are amazing! they give you a lift from the floor so your toes don't stick to the floor and that is one of my problems.  They are so nice and very comfortable. I honestly feel like my turning has improved.
